Salomon Aero Glide 3

The Salomon Aero Glide 2 was a damn good shoe—one of those rare trainers that just worked. Max cushion without feeling sluggish, smooth transitions, and enough durability to keep you from crying at the checkout screen every three months. So, when Salomon announced the Aero Glide 3, we had one immediate thought: Why mess with success?

But looking at the specs, this isn’t a reinvention—it’s a refinement. A lighter midsole, a plushier ride, and a seamless fit? On paper, it sounds like a no-brainer. But is it really?

What’s New?

  • Tallest Stack Yet, But Lighter – The new SalomonFOAM midsole has more cushion but weighs less. That’s promising.
  • 8mm Drop Feels Just Right – Enough lift to keep the stride smooth, not so much that it feels like a platform shoe.
  • Seamless Upper = Fewer Hot Spots – If they nailed the fit, this should be one of those trainers you forget you’re wearing.
  • Road Contagrip® Outsole – A grippy rubber compound that should last, assuming it holds up like its predecessor.

Will It Live Up to the Hype?

We haven’t laced this one up yet, but based on what Salomon did with the Aero Glide 2, there’s no reason to think they suddenly forgot how to make a great shoe. More cushion, less weight, better fit? If that translates to real-world performance, this could be an even better daily trainer than its predecessor.

If Salomon truly pulled this off, the Aero Glide 3 might just be one of the safest bets in max-cushioned road trainers this year. You can check out our full review of it here to see if they pulled it off —> Salomon Aero Glide 3 Review.
