I decided to test this camera on a section of public land I’ve been considering for hunting. Though I hadn’t spent much time scouting the area, it seemed like the perfect spot to put the Moultrie Edge 2 Pro through its paces.

I started with a basic photo-only setup but quickly began experimenting with the various features, it’s surprisingly addictive! The ability to adjust all features directly from the app is a standout convenience.
One of my favorite features is the AI detection mode. This mode allows the camera to filter images based on specific triggers, such as bucks, does, humans, or even vehicles. This is a game changer, especially for reducing errant photos caused by branches moving in the wind or birds flying by. While it doesn’t entirely eliminate false triggers, I’d estimate it reduces them by 95%, which is remarkable.

The photo quality is excellent, and all photos and videos are accessible through the Moultrie app. High-definition images can be downloaded directly to your phone, and the smart zone feature ensures the camera only detects movement in targeted areas. While the photos are fantastic, the metadata provided is arguably even more valuable for tracking animal behavior and planning future hunts.
