I got the Coalatree Men’s Trailhead Shorts to have a nice pair for the summer, but they quickly became my everyday shorts. With color options like sand, black, grey, olive, dark blue, brown, and blue, I need to get a couple more pairs.
Comfort and Stretch

These shorts are amazing. They’re super comfortable, with lots of stretch, and the water resistance is surprisingly effective. Any water that did soak in dried out very quickly. Since getting these shorts, they’ve become my go-to for anything outside, from playing with the kids and dogs to going on a hike or spending the day at the beach. They have the perfect amount of stretch and have been super durable so far. They’re very light and breathable, and I rarely felt sweaty through the humid Michigan summer.
Fit and Feel

It’s all about fit and comfort. I’ve never been more impressed with how shorts feel. The inside material is incredibly soft, adding to the overall comfort. They might be a little more expensive than average shorts, but they’re worth it. I’ll be buying another pair soon. They have some give and stretch, making them very comfortable. They’re my go-to shorts now for lounging at home, afternoon hikes, and quick runs. While they may not be perfect for any one specific activity, they can handle a wide range of activities well enough to keep up with other active gear.
Versatility

I initially got these shorts to hike in, but they quickly became my everyday shorts once it got warm. I wear them every day for work, riding bikes, hiking, camping, swimming, and anything else outside. I’ve had them for about a month and they are holding up great. My only wish is that the rear pockets were a little bigger and had velcro closures on both sides.
Durability and Performance

Just this past weekend, my family and I decided to do a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. I picked these shorts for the occasion. From the 2-hour car ride to hiking the trails, my son wanted to climb the 450-foot tall sand dune and swim in Lake Michigan. These shorts went through it all. The material is 88% nylon and 12% spandex with a DWR finish. They’re made from recycled materials and have a total of four pockets: two big front pockets and two on the back. The back pockets have flaps, with the right one secured by Velcro for things like a wallet. There’s also a small coin/stash pocket on the inside of the waist, drawstrings on the waist, and belt loops. The shorts can be packed into one of the front pockets, and the inside material is very soft and comfortable.
