I have loved firearms ever since I was a kid. Some of my favorite memories are of my grandpa taking me and my brother out for target practice with a pellet gun. That little air rifle sparked my interest, and over the years, my love for shooting has only grown. These days, I enjoy hunting, heading to the range, and the occasional round of skeet shooting.

When I picked up a new hunting rifle recently, a Tikka, I knew I wanted a quality case to protect it. I already had the Evolution Outdoors 1680 36-inch Tactical Rifle Case for my AR-15, and I have been nothing but impressed with that one. So naturally, I looked to Evolution Outdoors again. Their Marksman II Series Gun Case caught my eye, and after seeing it in person, I can honestly say it was the right choice.

First Impressions

The case looked great on the website, but the photos do not even do it justice. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed it was how solid and well-built it feels. This case is made from 1680D polyester, which is seriously heavy-duty material. You can tell this thing is designed to take some abuse and keep going.

The two-tone color scheme is sharp. The grey and copper look even better in person than they did online. It strikes the perfect balance between rugged and classy. One small detail is the Marksman II logo on the front. At first, I thought I would prefer no branding, but it is subtle and blends into the fabric, so it is not a big deal.

Looking at it laid across my couch, with my dogs flopped out on either side, you can really see the clean design and shape of the case. It’s sleek yet large enough to handle a scoped rifle with no problem.

Rugged and Functional Exterior

On the front of the case, there is a large zippered pocket that measures about 25 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep. It is roomy enough to stash accessories like gloves, a small cleaning kit, or extra ammo. The zippers are high quality, and I really appreciate the oversized loop pulls. They have built-in finger loops that make it easy to open and close the case, even with gloves on. That might seem small, but when you are out in the cold or fumbling with gear, it makes a difference.

The rugged base of the case adds extra durability against wear and tear, especially if you set it down on rough terrain. The SBR comfort grip handle wrap makes it easy and comfortable to carry, even when the case is loaded with your rifle and accessories.

Plush Interior and Protective Features

Where this case really stands out is on the inside. The first time I unzipped it, I could not believe how soft the lining was. It uses a plush debossed fleece material, which feels almost like a high-end blanket. The antler logo is subtly embedded into the fabric, giving it a classy custom touch. You can see this detail clearly in the close-up photo I took. It’s soft yet durable, giving you confidence that your firearm’s finish will stay protected.

The case also features two interior fleece-lined zippered pockets, which are perfect for smaller items like earplugs, magazines, or tools. One pocket is roughly 14 inches by 3 inches, while the other is about 18 by 5 inches, giving you plenty of options for organizing your gear.

One of my favorite features is the lay-flat design. When fully unzipped, the case lays completely flat, doubling as a gun pad. You can see from the wide shot how it spreads out nicely across the table. This makes it incredibly useful for setting up your firearm at the range or out in the field without having to carry a separate mat.

Size and Versatility

The Marksman II Gun Case measures 52 inches long, with 50 inches of usable interior space, making it ideal for most rifles, shotguns, and sporting rifles. My Tikka fits inside with room to spare, even with the scope mounted. The case is large but not bulky, with a balanced shape that’s easy to carry.

It is also versatile enough that I could use it for other firearms like my AR-15 or a shotgun if needed. I love having one case that can handle different setups.

Final Thoughts

I could not be happier with my Evolution Outdoors Marksman II Gun Case. It looks fantastic, feels tough, and provides excellent protection for my rifle. The materials are top-notch, the plush interior is a huge bonus, and the extra storage pockets and lay-flat design make it even more practical.

The price for this case is $69.99, which I think is completely reasonable for the quality you get. I have seen cheaper cases, but none that offer this level of durability and protection. With Evolution Outdoors, you get what you pay for, and that means peace of mind when it comes to keeping your firearm safe. Whether you are a hunter, range shooter, or just someone who takes pride in protecting your gear, I think you will be impressed with this case. I know I am.
