After testing the BlendJet 2 blender and the Jetsetter Insulated Lunch Bag for the past month, I felt prepared to provide a review. BlendJet promised to provide ease and efficiency to the smoothie consumer’s lifestyle, and in my experience, this is true. The BlendJet 2 paired with the Insulated Lunch Bag made consuming healthy and delicious smoothies a breeze whether at work, the campground, or in the car.
Initial Impressions
I received the BlendJet 2 and Jetsetter Insulated Lunch Bag in the Cloud color option. Picking the right color can be a difficult task due to the many options. I opted for a more traditional color, but the special editions and colorful prints were hard to pass up. I can see why BlendJet customers often purchase more than one appliance. The blender came with simple instructions and a USB charging cable. The instructions explain how to charge, use, and clean the blender. I was pleased to see that they suggest using a self-cleaning option—simply putting some dish soap in the blender, turning it on, and letting it do the work. Excited to try it out, I immediately searched the fridge and freezer to find some ingredients. Frozen strawberries, bananas, and lemonade seemed like a valid option. The blender did not struggle one bit while pureeing the frozen fruits. My kids were intrigued and wanted to taste test. They quickly approved of our latest kitchen gadget and learned how to use it themselves.
Charging and Battery Life
After our initial testing, we washed up the blender and put it on the charger. The light located on the front of the blender indicates the battery level, changing from purple to blue when fully charged. It took approximately 30 minutes to charge. We used the blender multiple times per day over the next five days, sometimes making up to five smoothies per day. The blender battery never actually fully lost its charge, but after 17 blends/washings, it was too weak to puree the frozen fruit. I was pleasantly surprised with how many smoothies we were able to make off one single charge. Not to mention, the USB charging cord makes charging anywhere super simple.
Putting it Through the Paces
Over the course of the month, we have made numerous smoothies and blended drinks using the blender almost daily. The options for use are truly endless. You can whip up everything from a healthy smoothie to some fresh salsa and a margarita anywhere you choose. Strawberry banana smoothies for breakfast at the campground were a popular option with the kids, not only at our campsite but also the two campsites next to us. The measuring cup feature on the sides of the blender is helpful for following recipes and counting calories. When I first noticed that the blades were offset inside the blender, I assumed it was a defect until further research. I found out that it’s an intentional feature that aids in creating a tornado-like effect within the bottle that helps to force ingredients towards the blades rather than getting stuck and avoiding being blended. This made sense because I rarely ran into the issue of chunks of unblended fruit. A few times I did run into the issue of a large frozen strawberry jammed between the blades and the cup, but it was easily remedied by coaxing the strawberry away from the blade with a fork.
Smoothies on the Go
I had the opportunity to test out my blender at home, at work, and while camping. The Jetsetter Insulated Tote made packing a smoothie and lunch for work convenient. I was able to fit the blender with my smoothie ingredients held safely inside, a sandwich, a cheese stick, iced tea, an apple and a some grapes, and still had room for more. The long strap on the tote makes the bag very easy to carry, especially when walking into work with multiple items in your hands. I did find that the bag was slightly too tall to fit in the fridge without laying it down on its side. The lid on the blender is so secure that I was able to do this without fear of a leak.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the BlendJet 2 and Jetsetter Insulated Tote are a necessity for any lover of blended drinks. Whether you’re whipping up a healthy breakfast smoothie or an evening margarita by the pool, the BlendJet 2 will deliver a smooth blend to satisfy your taste buds.
