Taking care of the body has become a very important focus for me. And I am committing to put in the time as I’ve matured over the age of 50. That said, I am still able to push my body to higher levels in a variety of athletic endeavors. However, I have come to realize that if I don’t take care of myself, it will quickly spiral into aches, pains, and injuries that will sideline me for longer then I would like. I have a stretching, core, and yoga routine. Additionally, I do 3-4 ice baths per week for recovery, blood flow, and mental toughness.
The Kineon Move+ will be an added piece of equipment in the therapy and self-care arsenal to address poignant and acute parts of my body. There are three modules attached in a pod with a strap that have infrared lasers to penetrate deep to reach effected tissue, aches, and pains. Hence, I am excited to see how this will work for me.

The Kineon is nicely packaged in a compact box which includes the carrying and storage case for the 3 infrared laser components and charging cord. The strap with modules for the lasers is your main body applicator for lack of a better term. There’s also a larger strap which allows for placement in areas such as the shoulders and back.

The Kineon Move+ In Action
I’ll tell you below about my experiences hitting my ailments. However, I want to say that this is not a device that will provide immediate impact or relief. That’s not a bad thing at all. I want to simply put this out there from the get-go. For instance, numerous other exercise and health remedies have a more immediate impact. A foam roller will work out the knots. An ice bath has numerous benefits, but will certainly jolt you full of adrenaline. A massage and/or recovery boot have their place. And lastly, a massage gun can also hit those achy or sore areas. The Move+ is a device that’s more of a long game piece of the puzzle. The slow penetration of infrared lasers warm up, and target those pains. It does so in a manner that might not feel like it’s working right away, but it definitely does.
I can’t really speak to the technical jargon of how the wave lengths work to optimally provide for the best treatment. Particularly, the technical jargon, and how it works to shoot the 8 x 660nm deep red LED’s and 10 x 808nm infrared lasers are beyond my expertise. I’m sure the specifics and details have been worked out for it to be safe, and effective. I simply look at ease of use, and does it help me recover quicker from aches and pains.
My main issue has been a tight lower back. The lower 2 to 3 vertebrae tend to get stiff, and they don’t move freely or independently as they should. This in turn, has given me issues with my hamstrings, knees, and calves. I work super hard to keep that issue at bay with a ton of PT (self directed at this point, but a program put together by two fantastic physical therapists).
The Kineon Move+ has slowly but surely also become a go to for me to keep me loose and limber. A recent motto of mine is “movement is my medicine”. I can literally lace up for a 40 mile ultra mountain race and feel fine, but sitting idle for a few days is the absolute worst. Hence, I do my PT, do all the fun athletic stuff, and incorporate the laser therapy to get that deep penetration.
My issue is not fixed by any means. I don’t know if will ever be completely gone, but knowing how I can keep it at bay is a huge win for me.
Using the Kineon Move+ is fairly straightforward as you place and click the lasers into the modules. Once charged, turn one of them on, and they all sync up in seconds ready for action. The larger strap is designated to reach larger areas like the back or shoulders. There does tend to be some shifting, and it’s not the most perfect connection to the body. The straps can get adjusted, and I usually try to get all three as close together as possible to have a more focused point of contact for my lower back.
A friend of mine had a super serious ankle strain on the trails, and we gave it a shot for a few days when he was in the acute phase of dealing with a black and purple ankle. Several sessions each day provided relief, and we do think that it helped speed up his recovery. The ankle, knee, elbow, or any smaller circumference is ideal for the sizing of the smaller band. You are able to hit the area from several angles.
The photo on the left is the day of the incident. The other two are several weeks later. He still wasn’t able to run more than a mile, but the recovery had gone quite well.
All said, I have seen a benefit from using the Move+ when I have an issue that is nagging. Once healed, I kind of forget about it for a bit, because all seems fine. The minute it flares up again, I immediately reach for the device to have a couple of 10 minute focused sessions. I really can feel a difference as it “lights up and warms” (for lack of a better term) the affected area. The fact that there are three modules makes it a little interesting. As it wraps around the specific body part, it will hit spots that don’t need it. No harm done, and you can remove one or two. There are also times when I want all three close together to provide for a more concentrated larger laser beam (so to speak).
The one downside I am finding is the positioning of the three modules to be properly focused on the area of concern. An ankle or wrist is rather easy. However, reaching other areas even with the larger strap becomes a bit cumbersome. I’m sure the fine folks at Kineon have experimented with numerous possibilities. Furthermore, creating an all-in-one device for the entire body can be tricky, I suppose. I envision a swaddle of sorts that allows for flexible positioning of the laser modules to create a snug fit. I don’t have the answer, but I do hope that future iterations address the issue.
Final Thoughts On the Kineon Move+
We age, we push our bodies to the limit, and in turn, we need the ability to heal, recover, and address all those nagging aches and pains. Consequently, Kineon’s Move+ will help bring relief. This device needs to be utilized in a manner that does require patience. It’s not an immediate wonder drug, but something to use over an extended period of time for relief. Specifically, I targeted a calf strain, a forearm deep muscle pain, and a tightness in my lower back.
I had success with all areas over a period of several months. I’d say, if you need another angle to aid in your recovery, give this Kineon Move+ a shot. Returning to action and being pain free is the ultimate goal. The Move+ Pro is a safe, non-invasive, enhanced light therapy device to provide relief in the privacy of your own home.
