When I think of Jeep, I think of adventure, durability, and rugged design. So, when I saw that Delsey Paris had Jeep branded luggage, I was intrigued. The Delsey Paris Expandable Carry-on Spinner looked tough, stylish, and well built, which made it a tempting choice for my next travel bag.

My family was gearing up for a five-day trip to Disney World with my son’s middle school band. Since we had a mix of travel including buses, planes, and lots of walking, I needed a reliable carry-on. I liked the Chili Pepper Red and Elm Green colors, but my daughter made the final call. She’s a big Jeep fan and dreams of owning a pink Jeep Wrangler someday. If this bag had come in pink, she would have grabbed it instantly.

With that decision made, we were ready to pack up and hit the road. This trip was a perfect test to see how well this bag performed under travel conditions.

First Impressions

When the bag arrived, it looked just as cool in person as it did online. The hardshell exterior felt solid, and the reinforced corners gave me confidence that it could handle some wear and tear. The Jeep logo was embossed on the front, making it clear that this was a bag built for adventure.

TSA Lock

The TSA-approved lock was a nice feature, but I had to look up how to open it. It comes set to 0-0-0, and unlocking it required pushing the mechanism toward the dials. Once I figured that out, resetting the combination was easy.

The pull handle extended smoothly and locked into two positions. The first one locks at 36 inches and the second at 41 inches measuring from the ground. It was great adjusting the bag’s handle height depending on whether I was pushing it beside me or pulling it behind me.

The four spinner wheels looked sturdy, with black and orange accents that added a nice touch. They rolled smoothly on tile, carpet, sidewalks, and even a bit of snow when we returned to Michigan.

Packing and Storage

For this trip, my wife and I decided to pack light. Between the four of us, we brought three carry-ons and a backpack. This bag combined with the others provided plenty of space for a five-day trip. The Delsey Paris Expandable Carry-on Spinner has an expandable zipper, which increased its capacity to 44 liters by adding an extra inch of room when needed. I did not use the extra space on the way to Florida but appreciated the extra space on the way back when trying to fit extra souvenirs.

The bag’s interior lining featured a green topographical map design, which I thought was a cool detail, especially since I enjoy trail running. One side had tie-down straps and a small zippered pocket, perfect for toiletries and smaller essentials. The other side featured a zippered mesh divider, making it easy to separate clothes and stay organized.

My daughter packed her clothes for the trip there, but on the way back, we used the bag for dirty laundry, along with the extra shoes we had brought for my son’s band concert and the Disney Crocs she bought after all the walking started to hurt her feet.

Travel Performance

This bag got a real workout on our journey from Muskegon, Michigan, to Orlando, Florida. Our trip started with a charter bus ride to Chicago, followed by a flight to Orlando. After landing, we took another bus to our hotel at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Airport Fun

One of the unexpected highlights of the trip was the fun my daughter and I had with the bag at the airport. With some downtime before our flight home, we turned it into a game, pushing it back and forth while walking, almost like passing a hockey puck. The spinner wheels handled it well, gliding smoothly across both tile and carpeted areas.

However, while the wheels performed great indoors, they’re not exactly built for off-road adventures. They rolled fine on sidewalks and even through a bit of snow, but they wouldn’t be suitable for rougher terrain like gravel or dirt. The wheels aren’t anything particularly special, despite what the description makes it seem. In fact, they are smaller than the wheels on the other two bags I had with me. I wouldn’t take them on the Moab trail, but they worked perfectly fine for what most people would use this bag for—rolling it along in airports and across parking lots.

Handling and Mobility

The carry handles on the top and side made lifting the bag onto buses, overhead bins, and baggage carousels easy. The telescoping handle was comfortable to grip, and the two height settings were convenient for different uses.

When we arrived at Disney World, the bag held up well as we wheeled it across the resort’s sidewalks and into our hotel. The wheels made turning and maneuvering easy, even when moving through crowds.

Durability and Design

The bag survived being loaded and unloaded from multiple buses, tossed into overhead bins, and dragged across various surfaces. Despite all this, it still looked like new by the time we got home. The hardshell material resisted scratches and dents, and the reinforced corners helped protect it from damage.

The TSA lock stayed secure, and the zippers felt sturdy and well-made. I’ve had luggage in the past where the zippers felt flimsy, but these had a solid, smooth glide.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Delsey Paris Expandable Carry-on Spinner is a good carry-on bag that does its job well. It has a sturdy build, smooth wheels, a TSA lock, and decent storage capacity. The Jeep branding gives it a unique look, but functionally, it’s similar to other mid-range hardside carry-ons.

For $169.99, you get a durable and stylish bag that can handle typical travel conditions. It’s available in Chili Pepper Red, Elm Green, Black, and Warm Sand, so there’s a color for everyone.

Would I recommend it? If you’re a Jeep fan or like the design, it’s a solid choice. However, if you’re just looking for a functional carry-on, there are other options in this price range that offer similar features. If you want to learn more or purchase one, you can check it out on amazon.com.
