Jolly Pets Dog Toys Review

Aspen and Suki were delighted to test out some new toys from Jolly Pets. First up, the Monster Ball is not only a treat hider, but also a toss ball that is unevenly weighted, therefore providing unpredictable bounces while playing fetch. Suki and Aspen were immediately trying to grab the Monster Ball from each other. The Monster Ball is made from non-toxic rubber and is safe for your dog to chew and consume. Unfortunately, we used the Monster Ball as a treat hider by placing a treat deep in its mouth; Suki is very smart and persistent and within a half hour, the entire monster face had disappeared. If your dog is quite the chewer, perhaps it is best to not use this as a treat hider.

Next up, the Romp-n-Roll ball, which was an instant favorite of our water loving dogs. The Romp-n-Roll floats in the water and the ball on a rope design made it easy to toss the ball again and again during a game of fetch. The rope is able to move through the ball, which allows for tug-of-war and easy carrying by the dogs. Unfortunately, the rope started to fray due to some heavy unsupervised chewing and had to be removed. The Romp-n-Roll is now simply an excellent and safe chew toy that the dogs try to fit in their mouths. The Romp-n-Roll comes in three sizes as well; 4.5, 6, and 8 inch diameters.

And finally we come to the Jolly Critter Hedge Hog. Jolly Critters is a line of toys from Jolly Pets that are made from non-toxic polyurethane plastic that is ok for your dog to chew and even eat (in small doses of course!). The Hedge Hog features a spiny back that also aids in cleaning your dogs teeth while they chew. After four weeks of vigorous gnawing, the Hedge Hog is mostly intact and only missing a few centimeters of its body. We opted out of using it as a treat hider after our experience with the Monster Ball. The Hedge Hog comes in only two sizes, but other Jolly Critters come in a variety of other sizes to meet your dogs teething needs. Shannon

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
