Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog Treats Review

The dog-loving folks at Zuke’s heard that we adopted an Airedale Terrier, Stella and that she had some room for improvement in the training department. Zuke’s shipped us every flavor of their Zuke’s Mini Naturals dog treats to help Stella flourish, on and off-leash, with some added training.

Mini Naturals Nutrition and Flavor

Zuke’s Mini Naturals are made right here in the USA and feature high-quality ingredients. Zuke’s offers 6 different recipes within their Mini Naturals line, to help even the pickiest of dogs find their favorite flavor. They are available in Delicious Duck, Savory Salmon, Roasted Pork, Wild Rabbit, Roasted Chicken, and Fresh Peanut Butter. No matter the flavor, Mini Naturals are wheat, corn, and soy-free. Our gal Stella has not been picky at all and has been loving each and every flavor so far. She is actually sitting rather close as I write this review, surrounded by partially eaten Mini Naturals bags.

Each treat is about 3 calories, with a slight variation of 2.8-3.19, depending on the flavor. The treats are small enough for training for dogs of every size. However, if you prefer giving an even smaller treat, Mini Naturals are easy to cut in half. Each treat is guaranteed to have a max of 30% moisture, minimum of crude protein of 8-13%, crude fat of 4-8%, and crude fiber of 2-3%. The ranges provided are based on various flavors.

Zuke’s Mini Naturals and Training

Zuke’s Mini Naturals are a moist and soft treat that is quickly and easily digested so that your dog can accept their reward and keep moving. Each bag features a zip-lock closure to help keep the treats from becoming hard over time. Zuke’s recommends using each bag within 3 days of opening for the freshest flavor and likely to keep the treat soft and palatable. Even with regular training, we have yet to go through a bag of them within 3 days. Therefore, I have been adding a small piece of moist paper towel to the bag and it adds about a week of softness to the pack.

Zuke’s Mini Naturals are great during training sessions. Stella loves the flavor and they are a healthy treat to reward her with when walking on/off lead, listening to my commands, and practicing in the house with commands such as stay, sit, down, etc. As you can see, Stella gives a very nice sit and is waiting for her Zuke’s Mini Naturals as her reward.

The Mini Naturals are available in 6 oz to 16 oz (1lb) bags, allowing you to try out the right flavor with the smaller bags and getting more a value once you and your dog figure out their preferences, with the larger bag. Shannon

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
