Dakota Grizzly had not really been on my radar before, but I am glad we got introduced. With Spring and Summer coming up, my search always intensifies for some good casual wear. The key ingredient for me is that it does have to have some sense of elegance to it. Comfy is one thing, but it has to be clean and stylish. At first glance, my JUDE shorts (Phantom color) and BOOKER Shirt (Metal color) meet that requirement and then some.

Material Features
The ripstop material is abundant in a lot of outdoor gear apparel. I have many jackets that allow me to be outdoorsy, and not have to be ultra careful of my jackets getting all ripped to shreds. Hence, I think it’s an added bonus for Dakota Grizzly to have added this to look good and still be able to go about your day. This is one of those underlying features that is easily missed. Yes, you pay a little extra, but it’s worth it in the end. You pay for what you get is certainly at play here.
The fabric is very lightweight and aery which is great for summertime wear. Dakota Grizzly added a touch of stretch to make it even sweeter. Details include riveted and bar tacked pocket corners and a hidden thigh pocket deep enough for a cell phone or wallet.

These pieces of apparel have this instant “this works” look to them. Put them on, and it fits stylish and comfortably right away. Ready for a nice evening out!
I have worn my booker shirt in many settings. Out to dinner with my wife, business casual to the office, and morning beach walks with the family. The shirt has a nice solid and sturdy feel to it, yet it portrays a classy and elegant look. It features two stylish pockets, a crisp reinforced neck taping, and tailored cuff turn back adorned with Dakota Grizzly’s simple logo. I have enjoyed the flexibility of being able to wear it to so many different functions.
The Jude shorts are smooth and light. They are super comfortable. With a just above the knee length, its perfect for me, and have withstood mountain hikes, picnics at the park, and backyard barbeques.
The zip security pocket on the right thigh is almost not noticeable. I figured I could put a key in or a credit card, but the size and depth is quite deep. It’s funny how some pants or shorts are just made to put your hands in to provide for that comfortable stance and being. These Dakota shorts meet that criteria, and instantly put me in a feel-good mood.
Final Thoughts
Dakota Grizzly’s got a real rugged mountain ring to it, but here I am wearing it on the beach. They really play their Midwest roots to their advantage by featuring regional difference makers in various fields through their “Midwest Makers”. These are all unique individuals who represent an image and lifestyle that Dakota Grizzly feels connected to. It’s a solid angle as it drew me in to read more about these partnerships. As for the Jude Shorts and Booker Shirt, I’ve taken a liking to the clean look. The comfort of the shorts is spot on, and the shirt nicely accentuates my skinny (athletic build).
