DAKINE Cadence Sock Review

To a lot of people socks are socks, but personally I’m kind of picky about them and even though they’re shoved in shoes most of the time, I like when they’re cute. The DAKINE Cadence Sock from their biking line have cute covered and do the job of socks pretty well too.

DAKINE Cadence Sock Review

The Cadence sock is a low cut sock made of synthetic materials without a lot of bells and whistles. They have very light cushioning in key areas, but do have a bit of a varied knit or weave that is thicker and thinner in different areas of the sock. It doesn’t seem like that is a bi-product of the pattern, but rather a designed feature. The thinner areas allowed for ample venting keeping my feet from feeling damp while the thicker areas provided cushion.

DAKINE Cadence Sock Review

A lot of bike socks are a bit taller around the ankle, so I appreciated the lower cut that could easily transition to a running or everyday sock. While they weren’t completely seamless, the seams aren’t too bulky and they didn’t irritate or rub at any time while I was pedaling for hours on end.

All in all, I appreciate that the Cadence was pretty low-tech, but still super comfortable, functional and cute. I have worn them several times so far and they seem to be hold up to wear well.
