Ruffwear SquareBall Review

The Ruffwear SquareBall provides a new way to play fetch with your Fido. The SquareBall is just that, a square toss ball made from natural latex rubber that is safe for your dog to chew on. The Ruffwear SquareBall has 5 different pictures and associated commands that can turn a game of fetch into a training session; commands like run, jump, fetch, speak, and run are included. We found the SquareBall can also serve as a treat hider for peanut butter or other small rewards thanks to the two-hole design. Our only complaint is that the Ruffwear SquareBall is a bit on the heavy side, making it hard to throw the ball a far enough distance to get your dog some real exercise while playing fetch. The squared shape does cause unpredictable bouncing which our dog testers seemed to enjoy, while the square shape was also easy for our medium sized dogs to carry in their mouths. Overall, the SquareBall is a fun and longer lasting alternative to the tennis ball. Shannon

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
