Outside Inside Cribbage Board Review

When I’m not outside hiking, running, camping, or sitting in front of my computer, there is a good chance you can find me playing cribbage. Cribbage is a great card game that can be played with 2-3-4 players and requires a cribbage board with pegs and a deck of cards. When I found out that GSI Outdoors has a sister company Outside Inside that makes cribbage boards, I knew I had to check them out!

I noticed the cribbage boards first when I was in REI and noticed they had some pretty cool activity-specific cribbage boards. Some of the cribbage boards that Outside Inside makes include; kayak, canoe, tin boat, fishing lure, gun bullet, snowboard, and a mountain-like cribbage board. Now I would not suggest taking these cribbage boards on a backpacking trip with you as they weigh a fair amount more than a cheap wooden one you can get at Target or anywhere games are sold. The Outside Inside cribbage boards are best used for inside use or car camping because they are a little heavier and they are a little nicer than other cribbage boards, something you wouldn’t typically want to just through in a backpack.

I was able to test out the kayak and tin boat, I ended up playing on the kayak board a lot more. The peg holes in the kayak had a much better fit than the tin boat. This was definitely something I reported back to Outside Inside for future fixes. For peg storage, there is a small slot on the bottom of the boat/kayak to place your pegs when you are not playing. If you really want to get serious, you can also get a deck of Outside Inside playing cards. These cards come in themes of tents, kayaks, and canoes and retail for $3.95.
