Klymit Drift Camp Pillow Review

Born in the backcountry of the Wasatch Mountains, Klymit has been challenging the conventional approach to outdoor gear since 2007. They know that nothing can ruin a good camping trip faster than a poor night’s sleep. I ordered the Klymit Drift Camp Pillow in an effort to improve my car camping experience and get good rest.

In the past, I had used my backpacking pillow that was too small, sort of flat and didn’t have a removeable cover. I was attracted to the Drift Camp Pillow for many reasons. The thickness of the stuffing is adjustable, the cover is removable for washing, and your sleeping surface is covered whenever the pillow is being transported or stored.

Klymit Drift Camp Pillow Size

You have options!

The Drift Camp Pillow comes in a size regular and large. The dimensions are listed in the picture above. I opted to order the large pillow since I wanted it primarily for car camping and wasn’t too worried about the weight (28 oz.). If you are looking for a smaller pillow for backpacking or kayak camping, I would recommend the regular which weighs 19 oz.

Your Camp Pillow Will Never be Dirty Again

The Drift Camp Pillow comes with an innovative pillow case. It is essentially a double length pillow case that the internal pillow slides back and forth through. Half of the pillow case is the protective cover made off nylon. It is water resistant and super easy to wipe clean. This is the end of the pillow you want to use if you are storing or transporting your pillow.

When you are ready to lay your head down for the night, you simply move the flap on the end of the pillow, unroll the sleeping end of the pillow case, and slide the internal pillow to the other end. The cover portion of the pillow then rolls up and is hidden under the flap. The result is a super soft, jersey cotton pillow case. It is so soft on your face!

When you are done sleeping, slide the travel friendly portion over your pillow, fold it in half and secure the Velcro strap (included). Easy-peasy!

The Klymit Drift Camp Pillow is Adjustable

Underneath the genius pillow case is the internal pillow. It is made of shredded memory foam that allows you to shape the pillow according to your preference. It arrived quite full and little bit firm for my liking. I was able to easily remove the pillow case, unzip the internal pillow and remove some of the stuffing. It was perfect. That is one of my favorite things about this pillow. No more sleeping with a pillow that is too thick or too thin.

Highly Recommend!

I generally try to provide all the pro’s and con’s of an item when I write a review. In this case, I cannot think of one negative thing to say about the Drift Camp Pillow. I love that I can store it and keep the pillow clean. The adjustable comfort was something so unexpected and exciting. It has changed how well I sleep in the tent or when camping in our Honda Pilot. If I had to say one thing negative, it is that my husband has now stolen it as his daily sleeper. He says it is unlike any other pillow he has used. Soooo, I’ll be getting a second one.

If you want to check out the Klymit Drift Camp Pillow for yourself, visit Klymit’s website at www.klymit.com or www.amazon.com. The cost for the large pillow is $54.99 and the regular size is $44.99. That is a small price to pay for all night comfort while camping.
