Helinox began their outdoor furniture journey in 2009. A few years later they released the most familiar of the Helinox family, the Chair One. Helinox pressed forward with their innovative, lightweight designs into a line of outdoor furniture that is sure to fit any adventure. I recently moved up to the Chair Two with a Seat Warmer (not included with the chair). The Chair Two combines the lightweight packability of the Chair One with some added neck and back support. The High Back Seat Warmer, recently added by Helinox, fits the high back chairs in it’s lineup. The added warmth of the Seat Warmer really expands the already-awesome comfort of the Chair Two.

Setup of the Helinox Chair Two
The Chair Two is made of the quality materials that Helinox is known for. If this is your first chair, you will find that assembling the chair is very intuitive and an absolute breeze. The chair comes with a zippered carrying case, aluminum alloy frame and nylon fabric. On the upper portion of the chair are two sleeves that slide over the longest poles. The lower portion of the fabric then sits on the lower poles using two rugged insertion points. The chair maintains it’s shape well (with the tension from the poles) and is easy to move in one piece.
The Chair Two is not the lightest chair in Helinox’s lineup, however, I am pleasantly surprised that the chair is compact and lightweight. The nylon insertion points are thick and I don’t worry that they will easily break. The chair is sturdy and comfortably and nicely fits my 6 feet, 160 lb. body. I ordered this chair in January with the intention of using it for winter camping. It was only logical that I also ordered the Helinox High Back Seat Warmer as the chairs partner.

Attention to Detail (and Comfort)
The Chair Two has the added luxury of a pillow sleeve at the top of the chair back. Helinox designed the sleeve with a Velcro closure so that you can use your camp pillow or clothing inside the carrying bag as a pillow behind your neck. After a long day of hiking or climbing, you will be so glad to have this added luxury. The chair is well sewn to the shape of a body, and as a result, your back, bottom and legs all have support. You can rest comfortably without wasting energy balancing in the chair.

The Helinox High Back Seat Warmer
Helinox recently added Seat Warmers to be paired with the Chair One and Chair Two (and other high back Helinox chairs). This is something that my backpacking comrades have talk about for years, a seat warmer! Well Helinox did a great job with their design. The Seat Warmers have their own cinch sack and pack down very small. The design is an insulated nylon (or fleece) shell with elastic edges. The simple design has no straps or buckles and is a breeze to slap on the chair. It is shaped perfectly to fit the Chair Two and increased the warmth of the chair exponentially.
As we sat around the campfire this time, I was the only one without a cold back and bottom. I worried that my weight would compress the insulation and I would get cold but I didn’t find that to be an issue. I used the Seat Warmer again while making breakfast and knew for sure that the seat warmer was going to be a permanent addition to my winter camping gear! Nice work, Helinox!
Helinox offers some great colors and designs for the High Back Seat Warmers. With the exception of the black fleece option, the seat warmers are made of insulated, quilted nylon with synthetic fill. The quilting provides for extra warmth and also keeps the fill in place. It is a great, simple design to add so much comfort to your trip. The covers are available in four fun color combinations and black fleece.

Comfort and Warmth: A Perfect Combination
Helinox has a great lineup of lightweight chairs that will take you from ultralight to a full size chair for a larger person. I chose the Chair Two for it’s great in-between versatility. This combo is the perfect option for paddling, winter camping or sitting at a cold Saturday morning soccer game. Adding on the Helinox Seat Warmer took this chair experience to a whole new level! I can drink my coffee in warmth, or relax at the end of the day. The chair and cover pack up easily and stow in a compact space. I highly recommend that you buy the pair!
