The ladies from Skida in Burlington, Vermont create some seriously stylish performance products. Their ski-inspired designs feature fresh patterns that look great while still being highly functional for the athletic or outdoorsy type. I was introduced to Skida several years ago when I received a headband in one of my regular care packages from VT. The piece quickly worked it’s way into my running routine and now I see Skida’s easy to spot products everywhere; from running trails to ski premiers.
Skida Alpine Hat & Neckwarmer Features
One thing unique to Skida is the dozens of contemporary patterns available for a single product. It would not be unrealistic to have multiples of a hat, neckwarmer or bandana to fit your many outfits or activities. I was excited when the Skida Alpine Hat and Neckwarmer in the Carpe Diem pattern showed up at my door. I love this pattern and how versatile this hat actually is. As it is getting colder, I’ve been wearing around town, running the local trails and snowboarding in it for opening weekend at Copper Mountain. Wherever I go, I get a lot of compliments on the Skida hat. One person even went so far as to touch my head while I was wearing it to see if it was textured (it is not textured).

All their products feature unique prints on their poly-blend outers, but the Skida Alpine Hat and Neckwarmer are complemented by a cozy mid-weight fleece lining. This hugs your ears, neck and face keeping them warm and protected. Even as I broke a sweat on a chilly morning run the wicking properties of the Alpine Hat’s fleece lining kept me dry. The super soft fleece lining stops just short of the top of the hat which is great for adding some breathability to the design.

The neckwarmer, which features the same soft fleece lining as the Alpine Hat, is truly cozy as the temperatures drop. I often bypass wearing a neck covering of any kind because they feel so bulky, so I like that the Skida neckwarmer is low profile. It’s 20″ circumference is loose enough that it doesn’t feel like it’s strangling you, but the poly-blend outer gives it enough structure to stay fitted and provide coverage where your hat and jacket can’t. It’s easy to forget how much warmth a neck-covering adds to your snow ensemble until you’re trapped on a lift in high wind gusts.

Skida is from the great state of Vermont and truly makes wonderful products. Hats and neckwarmers are one size fits all, but the options for their patterns are not.
