The initial take is that these Align Voyage are way too nice to be called sneakers. That’s my opinion anyway, but since they fall into that more casual category, I suppose, that’s ok. Having said that, if you happen to like the white color version, it does sport more of a sneaker vibe. Nonetheless, l think mine are definitely a stylish casual shoe.
I am drawn to these, because they have a good all-around look to them, and I can see them working in multiple settings from going to work, out to dinner with my wife, or attending my daughter’s swim meet. The quality seems top notch which I hope will put them into the long-life category. If I lived closer to a body of water, I suppose I could contemplate wearing these in a more beachside setting to aspire to the Voyage title. For now, I will be kicking it in comfort and style around town in an urban setting.

Key Component Review Of The Align Voyage Sneakers
Usually, when I review running shoes, the shoe nerd does come out. Due in part because I know like-minded athletes want to know all the technical highlights. For instance, what the heel toe drop is, or what kind of foam EVA midsole combined with the latest technological advancements in carbon plating will produce in terms of performance and speed.
Comfort, style, and durability are the key drivers for the Align Voyage. Apart from my daily use shoe around town, etc., the Voyage model feels like it should also be a great travel companion. No big travel plans for me in the near future, so I will have to rely on my local wear and testing to cast a confident review for the traveler. However, I feel the comfort and durability would likely work perfectly fine traversing airports, and discovering new and exciting places.
Upper
The leather is rugged, rough, and stylish all at once. With premium Italian leather taking center stage to give it that fashionable sense of style. Having said that, I do have to step that back somewhat, because it could be an either/or scenario with Italian leather, cow suede, or American leather for the shoes’ makeup. In any case, the upper is thicker and tougher. Add to it, the hand stitchwork to pull all the pieces together to add to that casual rugged appearance.
The inside of the Align Shoe is firm and supportive which in a short time of wearing conforms nicely to your feet. It comes with an arch-supporting footbed with dual-density cushioning. Align works with a podiatrist to design a superior arch support. I’ve worn these for long work days, which also included a fair amount of walking, and the comfort shines through. In addition the cloud heel counter supports my lower ankles and Achilles for a snug yet soft fit.

Midsole
The clean and simple off-white midsole adds to the distinctive dock side look. It’s a softer rubber that I have already scuffed and dirtied, but have easily cleaned with a soapy sponge. I am not privy to the technical make-up of the actual mid-sole, but the design in conjunction with the insole, I am certain, plays a role in the overall comfort.
Outsole
The rubber outsole is slip-resistant and provides a perfectly fine grip for whatever I’ve been doing. I think the separate pods with crisscross groove patterns will be good for much more tricky surfaces. Think wet pools, docks, and yes, a boat surface when going on a voyage.
Final Thoughts On The Align Voyage Sneakers
The Align Voyage has been a good all-around comfy casual shoe that can even be used for business casual. I don’t take myself too serious with my work attire, and these shoes have been a nice addition to the business wardrobe attire. The tough leather with the hand stitching gives it that unique vibe that transcends specific uses. I have had the pleasure of nights out on the town with my wife, many work occasions, and a host of daily functions I have attended. The price is right there in the sweet spot for not being too expensive, but also speaks to its enduring quality, as I’m sure I’ll have the pleasure of wearing these for years to come. I’d say it’s a good value shoe with plenty of bang for the buck. A longer term investment in quality usually pays off quite well.
