Supzoom was founded to provide fashionable, trendy and unique inflatable stand up paddle boards with inclusive performance for all classes of paddlers. We will be evaluating the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board, specifically the Big Star model. While there are well over 20 different models (designs), all of the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board models have the same build and materials, the only difference is the printed design on the board.

Build of the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board

The Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board is built with a highly durable, double layer construction, military grade PVC with drop stitch technology that results in what feels like a densely rigid board, very comparable to the feel you would get from a solid paddle board, minus all the weight.

The EVA footpad has a diamond embossing that provides just the right amount of comfort for the feet, while imparting plenty of grip even when wet.

Thirteen total D-Rings offer varying attachment options, four in the front for the included bungee cord to secure gear, eight along the sides for an optional kayak seat or the paddle holding straps and one on the rear for the ankle leash and/or a tie up / towing capability.

The Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board is equipped with a slide in main fin and two auxiliary fins. The main tail fin is easy to install and locks in place with a flat buckle pin. The auxiliary side fins are permanent fixtures and are there to help provide stability and allow paddlers to maintain a straighter line through the water.

The full UV printing technology that is used on Supzoom boards allows them to offer many unique and cool designs. And after keeping the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board outside in the elements for about 30 days (board was stored vertically so both top and bottom were exposed), the 6 Pass UV high precision printing has not faded even a little bit.

Ride Experience on the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board

The Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board hits that sweet spot for sizing at 10′ 6” x 32” x 6”, making it a great option for cruising, touring, fishing, yoga and even surfing – hence the “All Round” right in the name. The 32″ width delivers a nice stable ride that is easy to balance on and is a great starting width for new paddlers and novices alike.

The subtle 15 degree upturn on the bow of the paddle board and the 10′ 6″ length allows the board to flow through the water with ease and renders a nice smooth rowing speed that makes tackling long distances a pleasure. And with the three fin setup guiding the board, straight line paddling is a cake wake, while at the same time providing balanced and comfortable turns.

Load capacity on the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board is rated at 275 lbs. which in most cases is more than enough for a rider and any gear, parent and child, adult and dog or even two people. As you would expect a full loaded goes a bit slower and can be a little more challenging to turn, but overall this board still gets it done.

Adjustable Paddle included with the Supzoom 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board

The three piece paddle has a comfortable ergonomic design that can be adjusted to a paddler’s height with the locking clamp. The shaft is made of aluminum which keeps it lightweight but durable. The 12 degree angled nylon composite blade has a slight flexibility to it that achieves a smooth bit in the water and turns in a good overall paddling experience. When assembly the paddle does float and the three pieces effortlessly break down to fit into the included back pack. Nothing showy or elaborate, but an appropriate inclusion for this kit.

Supzoom Two Way Pump

The Supzoom hand pump is a single barrel pump that has a two way configuration for inflation and deflation. The handpump inflates the 10′ 6″ All Round Inflatable Paddle Board in about 8 minutes when you pump at an average steady pace. This time can easily be shorten by increasing the pumping speed, but that turns into quite a workout and will have you sunbathing on the board rather then paddling. If you are a regular SUP’er you likely already know the value of an electric pump and if you are not and plan on doing a lot of inflating and deflating of a paddle board, purchasing an electric pump will be worth every penny.

Supzoom Backpack

For me the Supzoom backpack leaves a lot to be desired. The material is thin, the construction doesn’t feel like it will hold up to years of abuse or being tossed in and out of the trunk of a car. Looking at the shoulder straps pictured above, you can tell that is not something you want to be hiking into a hidden lake anywhere.

But it does hold the paddle board and all of the accessories. My guess is that Supzoom saved a few dollars here to keep the price of the overall kit low. The backpack does work for easy and short walks from the car to the beach, I just wouldn’t plan on any long treks with this backpack to get to your SUPing waterway.
