It’s ergonomic, sleek, and comes in a small package. The CLIQ MystiQ Lounge Beach Chair has a noticeable sturdiness and heft when collapsed. It weighs 6 pounds, which, after a few carries, doesn’t seem too bad. I’m good with that, since I am not taking this backpacking or on long hiking excursion. I expect that bit of weight will help in the durability department which I value a lot. I like my gear to last for years on end. Camping, beach, sport, and picnic chairs are a dime a dozen and quickly disintegrate with some consistent use. Hence, I like my chances that the CLIQ MystiQ Lounge Beach Chair will last me a while.

It’s kind of funny for me to be reviewing a “beach” chair. With a quick AI search, the closest ocean beach to Denver, Colorado is the Gulf Of California. This is approximately 1,000 miles away. While technically not on the Pacific, the Gulf of California is the closest body of saltwater. Now, of course, we have nearby reservoirs and lakes for amusement and recreation. Plus, mountain lakes, streams, pools, and camp sites are perfect spots to set up for some rest and relaxation. Let’s just call it what it really is: an all-around portable chair for sporting events, camping, barbecues, or whatever your heart desires. Obviously, portable foldable chairs serve many purposes, and this CLIQ has even seen action in our back alley during an impromptu alley rally with neighbors, lounging and enjoying an adult beverage.

Open the bag and pull the MystiQ Lounge out of the bag.
Undo the Velcro strap around the chair.
Allow the spring-loaded legs to unfold and click into place.
Extend each arm until you hear it click. Make sure 6 silver pins are locked into place (2 on each back arm, 1 on each front arm).

The center hub is the anchor of the entire design. The most critical piece of the chair, in my opinion. That bottom button snaps into place where all four legs, arms, or extensions rely on each other to be able to support me. It can reportedly hold up to 450 pounds, so this little design feature is worth its weight in gold.

I like its sturdiness first and foremost. I know weight savings is always a consideration in my world of biking, hiking, and camping, but when I picked it up, the chair felt solid. A compact package that doesn’t clink, clink, and rattle when transported. Initially, I thought it was a bit heavy. However, as I unpacked the chair to start using the CLIQ chair, it wasn’t bad at all, and I welcome that sturdiness.

A Rocky Mountain cabin at 10,000 feet of elevation is a perfect place to “test” a beach chair. Comfort is comfort, and I can’t complain with a view of Aspens and numerous mountain peaks. Taking a break from the life hustle to disconnect does me good. A comfortable seat in the CLIQ MystiQ Lounge Beach Chair works just fine. Comfort is really the driving force for the chair. For as small and compact that it is, the chair conforms to my body and lets me sink in nicely. I even got a nap in which is a rarity for me.

This beach chair has found a permanent spot in the back of my 4Runner. As you can see from the top photo, a post-ride moment to relax and take in the reservoir vistas was in order. No matter if it was parked on my deck, in gravel, sand, or pavement, the sturdy rubber covered legs were up to the task. They anchor securely into the frame and are made of solid rubber to last. Their claw-like design handles various surfaces with ease.

There are two smaller side pockets which are great for sun glasses, phone, book, smaller tablet, or snacks. My bottle is on the larger side, but most bottles will fit just fine. CLIQ calls them “Holster” pockets, making it easy to access your valuables or drinks quickly.

Look at all that mesh! It provides continued comfort as it seamlessly transitions from canvas to mesh. Great for keeping the airflow going without creating that sweaty back.

You might be asking the question about the retail price of $270. I agree, that’s a decent chunk of change for a foldable chair. The cheap chairs are fine and will serve their purpose for a few years. That said, if long term value means anything to you like it does me, it will be worth it. I would estimate the CLIQ MystiQ to have a 10-15 year projected lifespan. That’s my wish at least, and would put the price at about $0.50 per week. Add in its compact nature, the peace of mind that comes with quality materials and solid technical design, and its overall comfort, and it starts to make sense as a good value.

This is not your typical Kmart beach chair. I use Kmart, because they are no longer in existence. I didn’t want to dump on any of the larger chain stores where you could likely buy a perfectly fine foldable knock-off chair. This is next level technology, quality, design, and comfort. Yes, comfort is key to why I like the CLIQ MystiQ Lounge Beach Chair. I have had fun breaking out this lounge beach chair at events or occasions of any kind.
