This summer I had a chance to test out the Springbok Collection from Ibex, and it quickly became some of my favorite gear. The collection includes a sport tee, a pair of running shorts, and a lightweight sun hoodie. I wore all three pieces during a trip to Colorado, on runs back home in Michigan, and even around town. After weeks of use, I can say these clothes are built for performance but feel just as good during everyday life.
Ibex is known for its merino wool, but in the Springbok line they blend it with other materials to add strength, stretch, and quicker dry times. The result is gear that stays soft, manages heat and sweat well, and performs across all kinds of weather. Here’s a closer look at each piece and how they performed.
Ibex Springbok Sport Tee

The Springbok Sport Tee might be the most comfortable running shirt I own. It feels soft the moment you put it on. I packed it for trail runs in the Colorado mountains, but pretty quickly it became my go-to shirt for everything. I’ve been wearing it as a daily tee as much as I can.

The fabric is a blend of merino wool, nylon, and a bit of stretch. It moves well with the body and doesn’t get heavy when wet. I wore it in the dry Colorado air and back home in Michigan’s humid heat, and it handled both like a champ. It dries fast, never smells bad, and somehow still feels fresh after a few wears.

Fit-wise, it’s close to the body without feeling tight. The sleeve length is just right, and the green color I tested looks clean. Whether it was for running, travel, or just a regular day at home, I kept reaching for this shirt again and again.
Ibex Springbok Shorts

The Springbok Shorts are designed for movement. They’re lightweight, comfortable, and well thought out. The built-in liner is made from a soft merino blend, and it helps regulate heat while keeping everything dry and in place. No chafing, no bunching…just comfort.
The 5-inch inseam is what I consider perfect for trail runs. They give enough coverage but never get in the way. There are two side pockets and a secure zip pocket in the back. I used that back pocket to carry a car key and a gel pack while running, and it all stayed in place without bouncing.

The waistband sits flat and stays put even when running hard or climbing hills. These shorts dry quickly and breathe well. I also appreciate that Ibex uses non-toxic dyes and keeps their process environmentally friendly. These are solid, reliable shorts that hold up well on long runs or hikes and are just as comfortable for post-run recovery.
Ibex Springbok Sun Hoodie

I wasn’t expecting to love the sun hoodie as much as I did, but it might be the most useful piece in the collection. It’s incredibly lightweight and feels like almost nothing when you’re wearing it. I used it in full sun, light wind, and even as a warm-up layer on chilly mornings.
The hood fits well and offers solid protection from the sun without needing a hat. The sleeves have thumb loops that help keep them in place when you’re moving. The material is soft, stretchy, and never felt sticky or too warm. Even on sunny runs, I didn’t feel like I was overheating. The breathability is that good.

It’s also extremely packable. When I wasn’t wearing it, I just rolled it up and stuffed it into a corner of my running pack. It barely took up any space and was always there when I needed it. Whether you’re running exposed trails or just need a lightweight layer that won’t slow you down, this hoodie delivers.
Final Thoughts on the Ibex Springbok Collection
The Ibex Springbok Collection is a win across the board. All three items are lightweight, breathable, and made with care. They don’t just perform well during workouts or trail runs, they’re also the kind of gear you want to wear all day long because they feel that good.

The Sport Tee ($105) is comfortable enough to wear daily and durable enough for long runs. The Shorts ($135) have thoughtful design and a liner that makes a real difference. And the Sun Hoodie ($145) offers a surprising amount of protection and comfort for how light it is. Each piece blends merino wool with other materials to keep you cool, dry, and odor-free. That makes them ideal for running, travel, or any time you’re on the move. You can check them all out and find your size at ibex.com and amazon.com.
