A collaboration between the two is a natural fit. The past couple of years, Sanuk has donated $25,000 to POW while also designing winter shoes that sport the POW logo to bring further awareness to their cause.
I have been fortunate to check out the Sanuk POW Environ-Mental Collab in the form of the limited edition Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow for the past couple of months. With a puffy jacket inspired design these mid-height boots bring on the cozy warm comfort perfect for apres ski sessions and chilly neighborhood walks.
While our fall season in the Rockies was warmer than usual, the switch finally flipped around Thanksgiving, granting us some early season snow and chilly temperatures to start our winter season. Sliding on the Saunk Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow boots has been bliss on those colder days. These boots are lightweight, super comfortable and warm.

I’ve never received as many compliments and inquiries into my footwear as I have had with these boots. The look of the Sanuk Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow boots is unique, and the style is both fun and functional. The black color and bright POW logo and mountain design are mountain town ready to stand out.

Warmth is achieved with an insulated nylon upper made to look like a puffy jacket. The inner lining is a recycled polyester microfiber. I often wear the Saunk Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow boots without socks and the soft lining feels great on my skin.
The soles are lightweight and very cushioned, and like other Sanuk shoes feel like you’re wearing flip-flops. The insole is molded with a podiatrist designed arch support and dynamic heel cup. I find this arch support to be adequate for all-day wear. The EVA midsole contains 20% recycled materials and sugar cane. The outsoles are rubber with a tread to provide traction.

The Sanuk Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow boots have performed well in snow and on ice. The rubber tread on the outsoles is enough to prevent me from slipping in icy parking lots and sidewalks. The nylon uppers have topical water repellency treatment that has kept my feet dry when walking in snow. I do not expect these to be fully waterproof, yet my feet have stayed dry even in slushy conditions. The mid height of the boot, fitting just above my ankles, also helps to keep out the elements and keep my feet warm and dry.

I am typically a size 7 women’s shoe and the Winter Puffy Chiller Mid Pow boots fit like a glove in this size. I often slip these on without socks, but when I do choose to wear socks, only thinner socks fit well. If you plan to wear thicker socks, you may want to size up. There is an adjustable elastic cinch to tighten up the boots easily, though I find myself just slipping them on and off without tightening them.
